 Dear Chess talents, parents and our family,
The Turkish Chess Federation, has played a critical role in world chess in the last 7 years. It started with the 34th Chess Olympiad in Istanbul in 2000, and has continued with different levels ranging from European and World Championshipsto World Youth Championships, World U16 Olympiads and a host of other events all supporting World Chess.
We have accounted for more than 80 international tournaments since 2000.
There is a firm belief by the TCF, that Chess may become a Number One Sport in the World. Today, FIDE and the TCF work together to realise this important goal.
When I was elected six years ago, the number of licenced chess players in Turkey was around 3.000; now it stands at around 170.000 persons. Also, we have succeeded in increasing the number of new, young titled players and strong ELO rated players during this period. We have won many medals in the European and World Championships. So, all dreams can be realised if you work hard.
Now, we have a new dream. An Outstandingly Excellent Organisation and a new world record with the number of participants in a chess tournament.
Let me tell you briefly what we plan for Antalya in November:
Minimum 2.000 expected players and a capacity of up to 3.000 players with more than
1.500 parents or accompanying persons.
A new dual-core laptop for each category winner.
An ipod-video for the second place.
A wooden quality chess set for third place.
We will offer an ALL-INCLUSIVE concept. So eat, drink and play chess non stop!
All this can be done in the surroundings of a beautiful natural environment, high class hotels and at a very cheap price.
We have a big organisation team, amongst the most experienced in the world, waiting to assist you. Also I want to underline that 10-17 November 2007 FIDE Congress will be on the same venue, just before championships.
The World Youth Chess Championships 2007 are an important milestone in this road map for us. We are sure that the champions from this event are going to be a legend in the future.

Whilst you are our guests in Antalya and in Turkey, I hope that you will experience Turkish hospitality and I hope that when you will go back to your home you will have a little warmth in your heart from Turkey.
